  • Territory on Show at Shanghai World Expo 2010
    Please find attached an official press release from the Minister of Asian Relations and Trade, Dr Chris Burns, announcing the signing of the agreement with the Australian Government, which establishes the Northern Territory as a sponsor of the Australian pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. The Shanghai World Expo is an “opportunity” to showcase what the Territory has to offer and strengthen the ties with our trade partner, China.

About the International Business Council

The Chamber of Commerce Northern Territory is the peak representative body for the private sector within the Northern Territory of Australia. The International, Trade and Commerce Division within the Chamber can give you advice and information on exporting, importing, and other trade-related activities.

The International Business Council (IBC) is an incorporated member-based Council within the Chamber NT, whose members are involved in the exporting, importing and trading of myriad products and/or services.

The IBC hosts a dedicated TradeStart Advisor, in partnership with Austrade, whose primary responsibility is to assist NT companies in becoming export-ready.

We can provide advice on the following aspects of international trade:

• Starting up an import or export business

• Trade documentation requirements - Certificates of Australian Origin

• Finding suppliers or buyers both in Australia and overseas

• Export market assessments

• Export assistance programs

• Business and skilled migration
