Awards Online

The Chamber of Commerce Northern Territory is proud to provide an online Award Service to eligible members to assist them in identifying their industrial relations obligations. Members can access full up to date versions of the award, together with Wage Rate & Allowance Schedules. Members will be notified when changes to the awards are made however will be responsible for logging in to access their relevant award documentation.

Important changes took effect on the 1st January 2010 with the introduction of Modern Awards and the National Employment Standards. Modern Awards will replace all industry or occupation based awards which operated in the Northern Territory prior to the 31st December 2009. Employers are required to comply with the provisions of Modern Awards. Most awards are subject to transitional provisions which will allow employers to phase in or out a number of areas of the award, including base rates of pay, penalties and loadings against the award which applied before the 1st January 2010. Information on this is contained in the Modern Award or can be found in the Circulars under 'Members Only'. (*Members with an enterprise award should contact the Chamber of Commerce NT for advice relevant to their situation).

Modern Awards commenced on the 1st January 2010 and affect all employers in the Northern Territory. The Modern Awards form the minimum terms and conditions for employment for the industry or occupation of employees as defined. Only those awards which have been identified to cover your business will be displayed.

Transitional Awards Online

These awards are provided to assist you in transitioning to Modern Awards only. These awards (with the exception of transitional provisions where applicable) are no longer enforceable and have been replaced by Modern Awards.  Access is provided to those awards which would have covered your business prior to the 1st January 2010.
