The Chamber in the Top EndThe Top End Region of the Northern Territory encompasses an area as far south as Adelaide River and East to Jabiru. There are two cities in the region, Darwin, which is the capital of the Northern Territory and Australia's gateway to Asia, and Palmerston, which attained city status in 2000. The population for the whole region exceeds 100,000 with the Palmerston area being the fastest growing urban area in the NT. The Top End Region has a dynamic business portfolio that includes retailing, manufacturing, international trade and commerce and tourism.
