COTA NT (also known as Council on the Ageing NT) is the leading not-for-profit organisation representing the rights and interests of people over 50 in the Northern Territory. COTA NT’s role is to empower older people, those who work with them, government and the community into achieving well-being and social justice for older people. In consultation with its members, COTA NT provides a peak body for senior Territorians and sound policy advice to all levels of government. It maintains a strong NT policy council and ensures accessibility to senior Territorians. It promotes (and delivers) seniors’ activities including funded and non-funded programs, Seniors Expo and NT Seniors Month; and it takes a leading position in age discrimination with a positive staffing policy.
