Cooperation Agreement - Timor Leste & Northern Territory

CHAMBER NT BUSINESS NEWS

2 July 2026

Recently, we reached a fantastic milestone for businesses across the Northern Territory and Timor-Leste.

We are proud to announce that the Northern Territory Chamber of Commerce and Industry has officially signed a cooperation agreement with the Timor-Leste Australia Business Council. This exciting partnership was signed by Chamber NT President, Natalie Bell, alongside Sarah Green, Chair of the Timor-Leste Australia Business Council.

What does this mean for our local businesses?

The purpose of this Agreement is to establish a non-binding framework for cooperation between Chamber NT and the TLABC to support:

  • Trade and investment engagement between the Northern Territory and Timor Leste;
  • Business networking and information sharing for members of both organisations; and
  • Dialogue and, where appropriate, shared advocacy on matters of mutual economic interest.

Areas of Cooperation

Subject to mutual interest, capacity, and prior engagement, Chamber NT and TLABC may cooperate in the following areas:

  •  Business Engagement and Delegations
  •  Events and Networking
  •  Information and Knowledge Exchange
  •  Promotion of Members

We believe that a strong, two-way relationship brings real benefits to our members and the Territory business community. We look forward to working closely with the Timor-Leste Australia Business Council via the Chamber NT's International Business Council to build a productive, long-lasting partnership, connect businesses across our two markets, and turn exciting new opportunities into real outcomes for your business and our Territory economy.
