Remote Australia Employment Service | Have Your Say

CHAMBER NT BUSINESS NEWS

4 April 2025

The Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) will begin on 1 November 2025, directly replacing the Community Development Program (CDP).

The new service will operate in Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) regions (currently known as CDP regions).

It will support people who are currently looking for work or may need help to become job ready, to get the skills and resources they need to take up job opportunities, including those created through the Remote Jobs and Economic Development (RJED) program.

Current CDP services have been extended until 31 October 2025 to continue to support remote job seekers, before the new service begins.

There is planning underway to ensure a smooth transition between programs.

Factsheet on the Remote Australia Employment Service

Have Your Say

The draft Grant Opportunity Guidelines (GOGs) for the RAES are currently available for information and feedback.

You can have your say on the draft GOGs, particularly:

  • Grants available (including provider payment model)
  • Eligible grant activities
  • Eligible expenditure
  • Assessment criteria
  • How we monitor your grant activity.

Read the factsheet above to find out more on which areas you can provide feedback on.

You can also read an Indigenous.gov.au article about this consultation and watch a video from Minister McCarthy.

The design of the RAES GOGs is not yet final, and your feedback will help inform the final GOGs.

Have your say via this short survey, or by emailing [email protected] by 21 April 2025.

The NIAA will review and use this feedback to help finalise the design of the GOGs before the grant round is expected to open in May.
